Hi, I own a late 2013 Macbook Pro 15” 2.0 Ghz IG. I’d like to upgrade by swapping in the mid 2014 DG (dual graphics logic board to speed up rending in iMovie. I’ve read conflicting information about the feasibility of the swap. What parts do I need other than the logic board to make this work? Perhaps a DG Midcase? Thanks!!
The answer was yes. Seems like all Macbook Pro Retina 15” from late 2013 to Mid 2014 have interchangeable boards. I upgraded from a 2.0 ghz integrated graphics (IG) 8 gig board to a 2.4 dual graphics (DG) 16 gig board with no issues. It’s a great time to swap out your battery too!
