HI, I know it’s possible to upgrade a late 2011 MacBook Pro i5 logic board to a mid-2012 Tutorial - Upgrade 2011 Macbook Pro Motherboard to 2012. But, I want to improve my 2.8 GHz i7 Mac graphics speed and also benefit from USB 3.0, which comes with the mid-2012 model. Is the logic board compatible?

I’m not sure you gain that much from a graphics perspective. Both systems use Intel’s internal graphics services: HD Graphics 3000 - 2011HD Graphics 4000 - 2012 There’s only about 10% improvement between them. You might want to look at saving your pennies here and jump to a 15" with a dedicated GPU or go with a newer 13" system that supports an external Thunderbolt GPU system.
