So yesterday I started to update my MacBook to high siera when it stopped and turned off my computer. So it reloaded at tried to log back on comes up with black messages at the top of the screen saying “Mac OS version not yet set”. After this it takes me to an error message saying “your computer restarted because of a problem. Any help would be appreciated

Do a reinstall from an external USB dive to the latest system. UPDATE You also have to install a bootable system on the USB drive. Then when you boot the machine (with the flash drive plugged in) hold down the option key and select the flash drive as your boot drib=ve. After it boots you cam run Disk Utilities on the internal drive and/or format it. Then install the system.
