I have an early 2008 MacBook 13" a1181. Some keys have come unresponsive. I believe it started after I downloaded an android file transfer program so I can transfer some music from my phone to my laptop but I’m not exactly sure. If this problem stems from something I downloaded or if it’s a software issue what can I do to reverse it? I don’t have an external hard drive nor the OS X installation disc. Thank you for your help in advance

Is is highly unlikely that is Software problem - if keys have some logical routh…like WSX… or…. TGB.. or something like that, than you have problem with connection or one of the graphite lines on your keyboard. Worst case scenario is replacing keyboard but usually is enough to disconnect ( no power or Battery of course) blow of dust and clean contact very gently with Alcohol and reconnect again
