Chosen Solution
I followed iFixit’s guide (and used their official Steam Deck screen replacement kit) to replace the screen of my steam deck. After getting it back together, the steam deck is not responsive. I didn’t have any issue doing the replacement, I’ve done this kind of thing a lot, I don’t know what could’ve gone wrong. Now, when not plugged in, there’s no fan or anything on display. the power light blinks slowly (on for 2 seconds, off for 5 seconds). When plugged in, the light stays on but sort of dims and brightens every second or two.
Leaving it plugged in overnight solved the issue, just like Steam Support said. It works fine now.
