Charging Icon displays briefly when plugged.
philipus19 , Remove the charger and look in the port, check for dust/debri and blow out with canned compressed air, also check for damage/ bent pins and straighten with a tooth pick carefully. Still no go, try a different charger/cable(known working one). Still no go, try wiggling the end of charge cable in device to see if the device charge port is loose(note whether the charge indicator flashes or stays on), if it does the charge port may need repaired or replaced. Still no go, battery may be faulty and need replaced. You could also try a factory reset, which is said to some times fix this issue, all your data will be lost if not backed up prior.
