I have a 2013 Macbook air that I did an erase and reinstall. Everything booted up fine. The next morning I got the question mark Icon at start-up. I then powered down and re-booted in Recovery mode. Nothing. Black screen. Went through the NVRAM/PRAM process (command, option P+R) at startup. Screen blinks as it chimes, blinks again at second chime. Still have black screen. Dead drive?
Well I do have a small piece of good news your SSD is not one of the defective SSD’s Apple had Apple Recalls Mid-2012 MacBook Air For SSD Replacement – 64GB and 128GB SSD Systems Affected Even still it Looks like your SSD has failed. You’ll need to create a bootable USB thumb drive to boot your system to make sure. If you can achieve that then you likely need a new drive.
