Hello, the screen on my UE40ES6100 suddenly turned black. I can still hear sound, change channels, etc. I did the flashlight test, but there doesn’t seem to be any picture. The backlight also doesn’t come on. I opened the TV and looked for faulty components (damaged capacitors etc.), but there is no visible damage. I did some reading on the forum, but in most cases it seems that either the backlight is still working, or there is still a picture when you do the flashlight test, but in my case neither works. Any suggestions what the problem could be or how I can find out what causes the problem? I don’t want to buy a replacement part without a good idea what’s actually broken. Thanks in advance. David
My bet? Something wrong with ribbon cables or connectors. Try multimeter for testing that theory, check if every pin is capable of delivering a current. If it’s a ribbon cable, you can change a daughter board of your display (or display itself). If it’s connector, than change MoBo. If something else, leave diagnostics to technicians. You tried everything you could.
