The Product Overview for the MacBook Pro 13" Unibody (Mid 2009/Mid 2010) Front Display Glass says: “This part is the front half of the display glass only”. I’m not sure what that means. My MB Pro’s display works fine but the glass is broken. Are there two layers? I don’t understand if I need another part beyond this one.
it seems that there are two layers, if you take it in to an authorized Mac Service Provider just remember to specify that you want the “glass panel” replaced and NOT the LCD. Below is a video on how to do it, i STRONGLY recommend getting a professional to do this job, this is not a regular DIY.
