we replaced both led strips on my 50 inch Samsung smart tv about a month ago and one strip is going out again . There is two inch wide dark spot running vertically on the left side of the screen . Would it be wise to replace that led strip again?
bobge that does not sound like a backlight issue. A 2 inch wide vertical stripe is to precise to be a backlight issue. that sounds like a signal issue and I am sure that this stripe will correspond with the ribbon cables from the LED driver connected to the LCD. It seems like there is a loss of signal. Could be that you have trouble with the LVDS cables, check all of them for proper fit and reseat them to make sure they are properly connected. After that you would need to take a look at the driver board. Post some good pictures of what your display shows and of all of your boards etc., with you QUESTION. That way we can see what you see.
