Chosen Solution

I came home from vacation and my TV won’t turn on. Our house sitter said it shut off while she was watching it, and she couldn’t get it back on. We did not have a power outage or a storm while we were gone. It is a Samsung 60” 6 series. (Model UN60KU630DF). We bought it from Costco and have had it for a little over a year and a half. Check the outlet and power strip and power to the TV is good. Tried two different chords from other Samsung TVs in our house that were working fine. No luck. Took off the back and everything looks good to me, but I’m also not an expert at this. I have attached some pictures. Let me know if you see something wrong, or if you have any ideas!

Thanks in advance! Rex

jeffriesrex  first thing you want to do is to check the fuse on the power board. See if it has continuity. After that you need to check to see if you have power coming to the power board. you can do that with a multimeter on DC and one probe on the fuse and the other on a contact point from the connector where the power cord connects to. Careful, that is 110V Ac and it’ll zap you good if you touch the wrong things. After that you can check the rectifier since that is also a part that loves to ail. I marked out where and how to test. Let me know if this makes sense to you. Let us know what voltages, if any, your board gets. At this point and with what your TV’s symptoms are, it does sound like a failed power board. If you can post a close up of the power board so we can see more details on it.
