Hey guys, I’m back again with something else broken! So the other night I was watching YouTube videos through a fire stick on my TV, when it just powered off. Well we tried another device in the wall socket, and it didn’t work. So we assumed it was the wall socket. So we plug it up elsewhere, and it powers on for a moment, then goes out. The red indicator light doesn’t even come on. Before this we were having a lil bit of problems with the side panel, where it would act finicky. I read it might be a capacitor, or loose cord. I’ve tried wiggling the cord. I’m a bit apprehensive about opening the TV, I don’t want to hurt myself. But I do want to fix it. Any advice? Thanks -Liz
I will provide more photos if I need to.
open up the lcd tv carefully put in a safe place, to protect the screen too. maybe 30 mins later but exercise caution especially to look out for the reservoir capacitor… normally there is one which is big in size, which might still contain some charges even when power is off. if you have some electronics background, you can proceed to discharge the capacitor with a ceramic resistor, Constructing a Capacitor Discharge Tool open up take pictures of the power board and misc, be careful of those LVDS cables and etc connected.
