Hello all I have this hisense 49 inch LED TV H49M3000 which is 3.5 years old so out of warranty. From yesterday the original hisense start up splash screen comes on but then the picture disappears. You can see the shadows and also sound works fine. With extreme difficulty I managed to do a full reset by looking at the black shadows but no luck. One very strange thing I found is when I do “sound only” and then come out of it, the screen comes on for a fraction of second. Can someone please help I can’t afford to get a new TV now.
@dma156 this “You can see the shadows “ as well as this “when I do “sound only” and then come out of it, the screen comes on for a fraction of second “ leads me to suspecting your backlight is failing. Check the voltage outputs (High voltage DC so set your meter to a high scale) from your power board to the LED’s. If you find that the voltage to the LED’s is present it is your backlight array (LED strips) that may have failed. For that you will have to disassemble the panel to replace those.
Hi @dma156 , Have you tried a different signal source e.g. dvd player or different signal inputs, input type e.g. HDMI, co-ax, AV etc., to check if it is a video problem related to an input, input type or signal source. Can you see images on the screen if you use a torch held at an angle close to the screen? It will be very faint so try it in a darkened room to help see it better if it is there. If it fails on all input types and different signal sources I’m wondering if you have a firmware problem as the screen seems to be working (splash screen showing normally) but nothing on the screen after that so all the necessary hardware for video display seems to be working OK but not to get the video signal from the input to the display. The splash screen comes from the TV firmware. I realize that it may be extremely difficult to do but see if you can update the firmware and if you can check if it resolves the problem. Is the TV connected to the internet? According to the user guide the update has to be done online. (see p.28 of the user guide) I have read that it may be possible to manually install the firmware but that you have to contact Hisense in your country to get the firmware as the TV firmware is country specific and installing the wrong country firmware can brick the TV. Tell them the TV is not connected to the internet The contact numbers are on p.30 of the manual.
