Chosen Solution
A few years ago this tv was hit with a power surge and I was finally given permission to try and fix it. I first tried the most likely problem and checked the main fuse, but it had continuity. After looking over the rest of the psu nothing seemed to be burned or in bad shape, so I though maybe the screen was dead. I plugged it in to my computer over HDMI while powered and windows failed to recognize it as a display, so the screen could still work. I don’t know what could be wrong, but if anyone knows of common problems I would gladly take a solution. I have all kinds of tools to fix it down to a soldering iron if it comes to that. Update (08/11/2021) Apparently 9248*6936 is too many pixels
Hi @suppermud Here’s the service manual for the TV. Go to p.4-3 (p.33/90 .pdf numbering) to view the troubleshooting flowchart. Following this will enable you to determine whether the problem is on the mainboard or the power board (SMPS). The manual doesn’t have schematics of the boards so unless it is a visually obvious component failure i.e. burnt out or blown, it may be easier to simply replace the board.
