So I am trying to troubleshoot a insignia tv. There is no video, the screen stays black. When I turn the tv on or off the light on the tv changes, so there is power. I also tested the cables on the boards and they all have power going to them. There is three boards, one that is power and the ac adapter plugs into, the other one is where the hdmi Cable and other cables plug into, and the last one plugs into the screen. How do I yroubleshoot the tv and figure out which board is bad or if it is the screen? If there is any other information you need please let me know
Jetlabb Electronics most common prblem with those is the power supply /LED board. A failure in that board would cause issues like you described. Replacement cost is around $70USD
I just repaired a 55 inch insignia tv by replacing the led strips. I had a very dim picture but I had sound.
Ok people, it is more than likely a bad LED but if not then it will be the power supply! If you have never repaired a LCD television then I do NOT recommend you checking the LED panel strips yourself because you to remove the LCD panel and it is extremely fragile! If you break the LCD panel then just throw the tv away because it cost almost as much as a new tv just for the LCD panel! The easiest test is to check the 2 wires (red/white) for continuity and if there is none then you have a bad led strip!
Check for swollen capasitiors on the main board that can cause so the screen stays black even when turning it on.
The LED panel ,which are the rows of LED Light Strips and are hidden in the case behind the main board are burnt and needed to be replaced and a certified Technician , or someone with the Electronics knowledge must work on the TV to repair it!
