My 55UF64430-UB is 3 years old and has recently been intermittently powering on with screen backlighting only, no menu and nothing happens when I press any buttons on the remote. After a few power resets it usually comes back to life but today it seems to have given up the ghost. I do t know much about modern TVs but to me it seems like the brain/hard drive isn’t powering up or maybe the video card is fried. I’ve seen others mention bad capacitors as the cause of some problems. Anyone have any info that could help? thanks, Austin
Hi, Try updating (re-installing?) the firmware from a USB flashdrive and check if this resolves the problem. Hopefully when updating the firmware from a USB flashdrive it will show the prompts on the screen. Double check that I have posted the correct link for your model and that it IS on the applicable model list. If it is the wrong firmware it could brick your TV.
