I have the PowerPC iMac G5 without the iSight camera that I have gutted except for the display panel. I think I have the A1058 system. I’m going to use it as a HDMI Monitor/Display. The display panel does work and has no problems. What would be the part # for the displayWould anyone know what converter board to use. Any help you can give me I would love. I would be connecting it to my 2012/2013 Mac Mini

As one who has built one of the (see pictures) it’s a great idea and very very cost ineffective especially with an 17” display. Take a look at the costs to do it as opposed to just buying a 17” TV. Besides it will not be HDMI. How to build a display using a iMac

You may want to re-think this as unlike the newer displays, this series uses CCFL’s (florescent tubes) to illuminate the backlight Vs LED’s. As such you need a high voltage power source (Inverter) which is powered by the power supply as you won’t have the logic board you’ll have no means to adjust the brightness.
