Chosen Solution

First time fixing an iPod. I’m trying to replace the lightening dock because it didn’t work. And this is my new dock

and after I pelt off the cable from the logic board I found there are some pins left on the board and they can not be remove

this is the original cable

i don’t know if those pins matters. if they matters, I’m asking for solutions, if they don’t, i will start to do the soldering and I really need some advice on soldering.

The pins must be removed in order to solder the new cable in place do this with your soldering iron and any kind of needle nose pliers and possibly a pick like tool or fork tine /pointed knife will work( just don’t get cut) heat solder around each pin until you can pull it out with the pliers ( be careful not to get solder crossed on the connections ) After all pins are gone double check for cross connections with left over soldert this can be removed during first step by using the pick tool etc. After the solder is heated to melting point creating clean work of board keep soldering iron hot and taking very little solder onto your tip solder each pin into place from new cable on to the board keep it clean and watch-watch-watch those contact points for solder crossing melt and remove solder if needed you want no cross connections
