I’m opening this up for the first time, this is also my first repair. Any help?

Hi Akio, Relax, take a breath and let’s check what’s going on. Most likely you’ve missed a screw that’s still holding the keyboard down. Let’s go through the instructions step by step. First of all, make sure you’ve removed all FOUR of the screws under the round rubber feet. Take off the feet and make sure the screws are out, all four of them.

Now there are TWO more screws under rubber pads on either side of the hinges. You got both of them, right?

Finally, make sure and count that you got all FIVE of the remaining screws that you haven’t taken out yet.

Okay, total number of screws you should have is ELEVEN. If you don’t have that many, go back and find however many you’re missing. After that the lid should pry open without much trouble. Yes, there are catches, but work your way around the outside edge until they’re all released, then the keyboard should just lift up so you can unplug it.
