Hi all! I’m struggling to get my ssd upgrade in place from owc. I was able to upgrade to high sierra, perform a backup on Time Machine, install the ssd, boot in recovery, but when I go to install the OS there is only a 2gig Apple disc. This happens both from a usb boot loader and the internet recovery method. I also tried restoring from Time Machine, but that didn’t work either. I restored the ssd using a spare computer and attempted the install again but every Avenue I try leads to a failure to recognize the device When I throw my old drive on it works just as it did before. Problem is I need the space and I spent the money and invested the time and frustration already. Any help is appreciated.
I’m guessing your disk may be formatted in Windows and Mac may have hard time recognizing it. Make sure your disk is partitioned as GUID - more on this here. If you can’t make it on Mac for some reason - try using a Linux machine
