I purchased the MacBook Rubber Feet a while back and find that I now must replace my worn out or missing feet. I watched your video about this topic. In it, the representative removes the feet and the center post of the rubber foot using a very pointy tweezer. I have bought a couple of iFixit toolkits that had a tweezer just like in the video. I was able to remove the top portion of the feet. But the core part of the feet are still in there. I attempted to use this tweezer and severely bent the fine tips of the tweezer. I managed to curve them back into shape using a needlenose pliers. But now the problem still remains. The central core of the feet are still glued inside the lower half of the clamshell. Does anyone there at iFixit have another idea on how to remove the central part of these feet. Hydrogen peroxide? or somehow removing the feet core with a pick tool? Or alcohol (maybe to dissolve some of the glue on the feet)? Would opening the unit enable me to reach the central core of the feet? Any constructive advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
Try shimming it out with a thin utility blade or pocket knife after you remove the bottom cover from the machine. Usually when the feet stick like that, someone has decided it was a good idea to use Super Glue on bad feet, or used too much on the Apple OEM replacements. If that fails, the final option is to size up the stuck part to a 2 step smaller drill bit, and eliminate enough of it you can pick it out. Hopefully it doesn’t come to that.
