I don’t know what year mine is and this didn’t work but not sure that it would for this problem. This is a 52". It tries to turn on many times, sometimes 12-20, before it actually comes on. Thank you in advance for your help!
Milt Heger start of with the easy things like trying to reset your TV. Disconnect all input cords, Sat box, Cable box, etc.,from the TV. Then remove the power cord from the outlet, then press and hold the power button on the TV (not the remote), for at least 10 seconds. Then wait a few minutes and plug the TV back in and press power once. If that does not do anything you will have to take a closer look. This could be an issue with the power board or the main board ( my number one suspect) For errors like this it is most commonly a power transistor that fails.
