Hello! The keyboard on my MacBook Pro will not work I cannot type, change the brightness, volume, etc. For some reason, the power button works though? Sort of … I can also (occasionally) press a few keys, such as “N” and “I” and a strange set of numbers and letters will pop up - “hny6hny6” over and over … or press any key and [[[[[[[[ will appear. The volume will adjust … on it’s on? It goes from mute, to medium, to mute, to medium, to mute .. without being touched.
BACKSTORY - my youngest brother played my computer and after he played, there was weird gunk on the keys and in between them. (The Q W E A S D keys) I took a damp paper towel and scrubbed at the gunk and it went away. (The computer was off) The computer worked fine for about 30 minutes after. It went to sleep and when it came back on, it wouldn’t work. Any help or advice would be great !
OUCH! Not good ;-{ Your keyboard needs to be replaced. This is a big job which you should find someone local who has the skills to fix Mac systems. Ellie you should talk to your parents so they know what your little brother did. Where are you located nearest major city? Maybe we can aim you to someone near you.
