Hello guys, I don’t know if this question sound stupid or not. But as a iPhone user i like everything in my iPhone to be in My control. Yeah… im talking about jailbreaking. We’ll I’ve been jailbroken for a long time. And i really don’t want to get rid of it. But there’s one little problem… my storage is only 16GB… Yes in

  • 2022 im still running on a iPhone 6s with 16gb on it for 6-7 years. And i want to upgrade my storage on it. But there’s one questions that decides(iguess) that if i upgrade my device nand flash memory chip. Then will i be able to transfer my OS files and other files from my old chip to the new upgraded nand flash chip?? Cuz if i can, then i would be able to retain my JAIL-BREAKABLE iOS version. Hopefully someone could answer my question.

Nobody has ever tried that. Most storage replacement requires a full DFU reinstall on the new flash chip. Using a programmer to modify existing storage volume is not possible as the file system encryption is not transparent to anything external to the CPU. I guess in theory, if you want to achieve that, you need some tool to dump the flash, then copy them on a larger flash chip word for word, boot into it and modify volume partition size using some JB state tools. I don’t think anyone has even looked into this kind of process since nobody had any real need for it.
