I recently replaced the trackpad in a 15" MBP - Early 2011 and it seemed to be working great. However, no its working very intermittently, sometimes it tracks as I would expect other times the pointer doesn’t even move. Any ideas? Is this trackpad defective? If so how do I return it and get a different one???
Check to see if your battery is swollen. If you can’t tell, remove the battery and start up with just the mag-safe adapter and let us know if the issues persists.
If you’re certain you installed correctly, assuming the part is from iFixit, yes, you can get a replacement for a defective item. iFixit offers lifetime warranty against defects for non-consumable items.
