My trackpad and keyboard barely work, keyboard working one button every couple minutes, curser only clicks every couple minutes. When I turn it on it says it doesn’t detect a trackpad or keyboard and looks on Bluetooth. I’ve tried the settings, Pram restart, safe mode, all the restarts. I finally replaced the trackpad and it still doesn’t work.

With both keyboard and trackpad involved at once on such Macbook, where they’re both connected directly and independently to the logic board, an SMC issue may be be involved. Hard to spot and diagnose even for a tech, unfortunately.

Let’s check the battery over time they can swell up pressing the ribbon cables leading to the logic board from both the keyboard and trackpad. Pop the bottom cover off using a straight edge see if the battery is bulging. You might want to loosen it a bit as well to see if that helps. I would also check the battery using this gem of an App coconutbattery Here’s the needed battery MacBook Pro 13" Unibody (Mid 2009-Mid 2012) Battery and the guide to put it in MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Late 2011 Battery Replacement. You may also need to replace the keyboard and trackpad cables if they are damaged.
