Chosen Solution

I replaced the screen and home button cable on my ipad and the power was not off at the time. The touch screen and home button are not working, does the ipad have to be restarted before it will recognize the new parts? if so how do I restart it when the touch screen is not working.

Two possible situations:

  1. The digitizer cable is not seated properly
  2. The screen is defective Two possible solutions:
  3. Reseat the cables
  4. Contact who you purchased the screen from (I hope it wasn’t us) and get a replacement

Make sure you push the flex cable into the zif connector as far as it will go. The white indicator line should not be visible. Thats what worked for me.
