Today i fixed my macbook pro battery and it went pretty well as this isn’t the first time i have done this. After installing the new battery and booting up my laptop, i gave in my password and everything worked fine (including the touchpad). When i was completely booted up and at my home screen though, the touchpad didn’t function at all (keyboard did). I checked my system information and the keyboard/trackpad appeared like normal… I opened the macbook back up to look for anything wrong, removed the battery, etc. All looked normal. I reset the PRAM, SMC and rebooted a couple times now, no luck. Could anybody help? Update (02/23/2020) I inspected the cable, connector and touchpad itself completely. Doesn’t look like anything is wrong… I have attached some photo’s. I’m just left confused, Everything on the motherboard, cables and touchpad seem fine, and i checked in mac os, everything is getting enough power and is showing up. (so it isn’t the battery either)
Inspect the cable connects are any of the pins bent? As the cable runs across the top of the battery you might have a damaged cable. Heres one source 15” Retina MacBook Pro Trackpad Flex Cable, Apple P/N 821-2652
