I think the answer is “no” but I have to ask: I tore the cable from the home button, but I have another iPhone SE with a good button. Can I swap buttons and have TouchID work? I suspect that if the CPU is ‘tied’ to each specific home button, this will NOT work…but I don’t know if that is the case.

hello Glenn, You have right, it never be worked again in you change the button. Theoretically, possible is re-soldering a flex tape of Touch.ID but in practically impossible.
