Chosen Solution
I purchased two screens from an eBay store after smashing my screen. Both had a small issue fitting the bottom of the chassis after repair, but managed to be closed. Anywhere from five minutes to five hours later it’ll work, then stop working until I turn it off and lift the screen out and restart the device. Any ideas? Firstly thought it was a dud-screen which is why I got the replacement. But the exact issue twice? Very unlikely.
It’s bad quality aftermarket iPhone 8 screens. I had the same issue when I started with iPhone 7 screens, found out the metal cover on the screen cables were too large and obstructing the screen from sitting properly from bottom right as it wont fit. Sorry to say but I don’t think you’ll fine quality iPhone 8 screens on eBay any time soon. You might want to try getting the screen replaced from a mobile phone repair shop in the meantime. iFixit does sell screens if you want to buy good ones: iPhone 8 LCD and Digitizer
