Chosen Solution
Hello my Kindle Oasis switches on and the two buttons both allow me to scroll through the books I have. What I can’t now doe is to select anything on the screen as the touch screen is not working. Are you able to fix this and if so how much would it cost? Thanks Kim
This is the solution: Step 1 : Remove the kindle from it’s cover Step 2 : Heat the screen up using a hair dryer Step 3 : Test the touchscreen If the touchscreen isn’t working, keep heating up the screen but make sure to not overheat it as it may cause the screen to leak or worse : the battery to explode.
It can be fixed, generally happens when a digitizer fails on the device, but you can additionally attempt to hard reset it by doing these steps: Press and hold the Power button for a full 40 seconds. After the first 6 to 8 seconds, the screen will go blank, which is normal. Continue holding the Power button. After 40 seconds, release the Power button. The charge indicator light will turn on after a few seconds. Hopefully that fixes it, cause unfortunately its not really worth the repair cost on a device of this value. Have a great day, Austin
