have replaced display screen boots up fine does not respond to touch to unlock why
scott, the first thing I suggest for you to do , is to double check your work. Make sure everything is properly connected, check the connectors for any bend or broken pins. If all of that is fine, I would return the assembly and replace it once more. It is possible that you have a faulty one. Worst case scenario are logic board issues with the touchscreen IC. Hope this helps, good luck.
make sure the screen replacement part works with android 4.4, that is a common problem
Try reverting back before 4.4, go to Sammobile and find older firmware for your phone and then download a program called Odin. Load the .tar file in the PDA section, untick repartition and flash when ready. good luck! (you will loose all data so back up first) if you want to do things on your phone you can plug a wired xbox 360 controller or a wired ps3 controller and control your device with that
