Hi, While your phone may be water resistant, perhaps the force of the impact of landing in the sink has either loosened a connection in the phone or even broken something internally. The only way to find out what has happened is to open the phone and inspect it for any obvious damage. First you could check that in fact there hasn’t been any water ingress by inspecting the phone’s Liquid Damage Indicators and check if they are showing any signs of water ingress If they are OK then here is a link to the ifixit Samsung Galaxy S7 Repair guides which may be of some help.
