Chosen Solution

My wife cracked the screen on her Apple Watch. I ordered a new screen and digitizer from Ifixit. I even paid more and got the sapphire crystal. My brother who has replaced screen on many Apple devices changed it for me. Now the touch screen hardly ever works. We can enter the password but 95% of the time we can’t even open an app. Help! The watch is the A1554 I ordered the Apple Watch (42mm original) LCD screen and Digitizer/Sapphire Crystal.

This could be one of two things.

  1. Flex Cables not Seated The flex cables may not be seated properly, in this case you will have to unplug them make sure there aren’t any dust particles, ( you can blow on it or I prefer using a pressurized air canister). Then reseat the cables. Also make sure the adhesive is fully intact before closing, I have seen this may also cause problems
  2. Faulty screen The screen may have been faulty or otherwise damaged upon repair. In this case you will need another. Let me know if you get any results.
