Chosen Solution
I own a local repair shop and this dreaded issue is back! The ipad mini 1,2 had this issue of the ipad touch screen acting crazy on its own as if someone was opening and closing apps. A simple solution solved that issue with Kapton tape. This solution was applied to the ipad mini 3 screen but does not solve the crazy/acting on its own touch screen issue. Does anyone know a solution to this issue. I’ve tried everything. Kapton tape on the lower section of the screen covering both home button cable and coving the the outside of the inside edge of the touch sensor. no aid.
This turned out to be a software issue on my sons iPad. Initially when turned on it was ok, then after a few seconds to a minute it would go crazy with random screen presses and swipes. Fix was to uninstall you tube app, then reinstall. This removed a pending update icon on the App Store app that was stuck. I had restricted you tube in the settings, which seems to have prevented an automated update and caused some sort of bug.
