I changed my screen and digitizer on iPhone 6. Swapped the home button and the Touch ID stopped working. Any way to get it going again? Also the mic in the new assembly did not fix a Siri issue where Siri doesn’t hear me when an external mic is not attached. Update (06/17/2016) I took the original home button and placed in onto the replacement screen. It functions as a button but Touch ID doesn’t work.
if there is any damage to the home button flex cable or the connector you may have ruined the functionality of the home button. check the extension cable that the home button connects to, if that is damaged just replace and see if the Touch ID works. I have ripped that cable before, you can find the shield and the cable already installed or just buy the cable and remove the old one.
You cannot replace the home button, use the original one.
The home button touch ID which you’ve removed is unique to that phone. Any replacemwnt will only work as a normal home button from now on. Hope this clears it up for you.
