After I replaced my screen I got a message that popped up saying touch id unlivable for this device, the home button works perfectly fine but the touch id doesn’t I tried to see if the connection was not secure but still nothing. I also tried to wipe the phone and restore it but still not working. If I replace the home button flex cable will it work again? Update (10/26/2016) Update I just ordered a Metal Plate with Heat Shield / Home Button Flex Cable Preinstalled i’ll update if this fixes the issue

Are you using the same button? If not, you will not be able to use Touch ID. It has to be the same home button, they are linked with the logic board.

You have to find out by yourself, nobody know what you actually did during the repair so nobody know what exactly got damaged. If replacing the bridging flex did not work, you can be sure that it was not the cause. The most likely cause might be when you pry the Touch ID button off, you bent the cable section too much. SMD ceramic capacitors are extremely suspecitible to chipping when bent.

My brother had this issue once when he had to replace the metal plate of the LCD Display. Touch ID didn’t work for a few days, but suddenly without doing anything it worked again. If you didn’t change your Home Button, nor any other parts linked to the Touch ID, I’d wait a few days and then maybe think other solutions.
