Hello I have a Toshiba Model: 40RL958 and the problem is the back light goes off but image still there and sound also. When the tv is off for long period and then turn it on the backlight keeps working for about 15/20 minutes then goes off. Then I turn power off and on and backlight is normal again but this time for a short period. After the backlight goes every time I turn power off/on it still get image but always go off again. Please if someone have any idea what could be the problem help me to get it fixed. For what I’ve been reading online people say it could be the power board or the inverter. Already did a firmware update but nothing changed. Your help is much appreciated. Jorge
jorgesil this most certainly could be an issue with the power board or the LED driver. You do wan to go ahead and remove the back of your set. then take plenty of good images of your boards and post those with your question. That way we can see what you see and can hopefully help you further to determine the cause of this. Use this guide Adding images to an existing question for that. Check for domed, bulging capacitors on the power board.
