My Inglis IJ 48000 top loader gets stuck on spin/spray rinse , wasting vast amounts of water unless I remember to advance the timer manually. I suspect a dead spot on the timer. Can it be repaired or must I spend hundreds on a new timer for an older machine?
@stainless , Rod, sounds like the timers motor is sticking/weak/defective, you could try disassembling the timer and hopefully get a part # off the timers motor, do a google search to find a replacement motor. If you do disassemble and the timer contacts look burnt up or no timer # , you may be better off replacing the timer assy.. Quite often if you have the time walk through a couple scrap yards that take appliances and see if you can find a timer on a scrapped wash machine, of course you really will not know condition of timer but for $5.00 it might be worth a try. Good luck. I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.
