I have an old and valued TI 42S and it will not turn on even with fresh batteries properly installed. Any advice?

What type of battery does it use? If AA type check pins are clean and have no corrosion. If flat disc type then make sure the side pin (usually holds the battery in place) is over far enough to make contact with the side of the battery.
