hi , my honda accord got three warning lights on dashboard. Those are , brake lamp ( light with doors open) , brake and battery light. Check the image above attached. I have enough brake oil and a brand new battery. What could be the problem.?
I had this exact problem just one week ago. I replaced the battery and alternator. This fixed all my problems.
The “Brake” light comes on when either the parking brake is on or there’s an issue with the brake pressurized circuit. Sometimes the Brake light stays on when the car is running due to a dirty or faulty switch at the parking brake. But you need to first check the braking system of the car to make sure there’s no problems, then look for a faulty parking brake switch. The “Maint Req’d” light is triggered by the car’s computer and the most common reason is oil change interval. Any decent oil change/lube shop can check the Maint light to see if your car is due for an oil change or if there’s something else triggering the Maint light. As jayeff mentions, the battery icon light indicates a charging system problem. But this light can also be triggered by the car’s computer so you might need to have a repair shop check the ECU codes and reset if necessary.
It is a dummy light. The above answers are literally common sense generic answers… “The brake light means the parking brake is applied" … of course it does. Most likely your alternator is about to go out… Late 90’s civics would have a dummy warning where the tachometer would hold at redline for several seconds at a time(while driving normal of course) as a warning of eminent alternator failure… what you need is to find a Honda Master Tech….
Drive belt broken is what I would say
