Hi there, i was reading these posts and i have a similar problem. There are permanent thin horizontal lines running over my entire screen. On top and bottom the lines are worse. They are not entirely black but transparent. The lines appear on every input source but some sources have more lines than others. Lines seem to be less visible on the tv menu and on the tv test image there are no lines at all. Does somebody know what the problem is here? I have a Samsung 32" 5500 Series Full HD Smart tv with lcd screen. Best regards, mr. Williams. Update (02/26/2018)

@omarwilliams those lines are commonly caused by failed Gate Drivers. Those are part of your display panel. Find where a circuit board connects to the LCD on the side by some very fine flat ribbon cables. Try to apply some pressure on that and see if that changes the lines. For that you will of course have to disassemble your TV.
