Chosen Solution
There recently today appeared while we where watching tv a black line down the left middle of the screen. How do I fix this by myself? I’ve already taken the back apart and cleaned the tabs connected to the motherboard and lcd and reconnected but with no luck has the black line disappeared.
@riddler5 your second image shows that one of your backlight LED’s has failed. you will have to disassemble the panel and replace the LED backlight strip. Not horribly complicated just more of a PITA. Make sure that you keep the panel on a flat surface at all times so that it does not flex to much.
Looks like backlight issue. Perhaps try remove LCD panel and see if all LED are light up. If not all of them working, it could be a matter of $20 replacement of a LED strip.
