I’m repairing a 6 plus, and it has a discolored spot at the top of the screen, a little to the right. I tried loosening the earpiece bracket screws since I’ve heard this can cause discoloration but it didn’t help. The discoloration goes away when I test it before closing it up, but once I pop the screen down into place it shows up again. I’ll be grateful for any help.

Try removing the upper left screw of the plate holding the lcd/digitizer/camera cables. It normally do the trick. Edit 13/06/17 Look at the flex bend (Red Circle) and at the metallic part (Blue rectangle) if they are properly sitted , this should be under the metallic backplate of the screen.

Do you have the ability to try a different glass/lcd, so that you can isolate this to a part issue or a board issue? Also, make sure there is nothing out of place on the device that could add a pressure point causing the discoloration.
