This was a great TV until it quit working (isn’t that always the case??). Powering on the unit, the screen flashes for like a second while the power light flashes 8 times in a row and then it shuts down. Has anyone run across this and if so, is there a way to fix it or is it off to the junk pile?
Mike Callen, the 8 blink code on this set indicates “Driver SOS3, SS, FPC, DET”, which could be a fault with the SS board. Unplug the SC board and see how many times your LED blinks (hopefully 6 or 7). It could mean that you need to replace the SS board. the attached image will show you the location of the specific boards. You should also consider posting images of the back of your computer to identify the boards specifically for your TV.
