My tv model wasn’t listed. My TV model is a Samsung HPT5054X/XAA, version SQ24
@msmarti2u2 start off by removing your current input source (cable box etc.) Then try each input source (HDMI,Coax, Composite etc.)separately and see if that changes anything. If that does not, you will have to take a look on the inside and check the boards. Unplug your TV and remove the back.
You should be seeing this layout
Take a close look at your boards for any obviously damaged components. Take some good pictures and post those with your question. Use this guide for that Adding images to an existing question It will allow us to see what you see. The proper way to troubleshoot your TV would be by
- Check the various cable connections first.
- Check to see if there is a burnt or damaged cable.
- Check to see if there is a disconnected or loose cable connection.
- Check to see if the cables are connected according to the connection diagram.
- Check the power input to the Main Board.
- Check the voltage in and out between the SMPS ! Main Board, between the SMPS ! X, Y Main Board, and between the Logic Boards. ( the voltages should be printed on the circuit boards) The cause for normal audio but no picture is displayed could be when the Main Board is functioning but the X, Y Main Board, Logic Board, or Y Buffer Boards are not.
- The output voltage of the Main SMPS.
- This may happen when the LVDS cable connecting the Main Board and the Logic Board is disconnected. So you want to check on that.

First of all the model you list is a plasma TV not DLP. I would suspect a bad power supply that is preventing the plasma portion from working properly. The most common problem is defective capacitors in the power supply. These defective parts will allow for the majority of the system to work as those portions work on lower voltages and current levels. The power required for the plasma panel is greater and is not being supplied. The parts cost for this I would estimate is less than $30. Dan
