Wait a second, how did you connect an iPad battery in? Well I know at least the iPad Mini and iPhone 5 use the same battery connector. The issue is most likely the tristar chip going partially bad causing rapid battery drain. To get that fixed it requires board level repair / micro-soldering. Also you can check the battery heath. Use either one of these methods to check your battery: Windows PC - 3UTools Mac OS X - CoconutBattery Using mobile app - Battery Life

First thing - check, what applications are running, and try to close all of them. I found that some applications kill my iPhone 5 in about an hour (even though application is not actively running, screen is off, etc.). Second thing - check if you have “Find my iPhone” enabled. That’s what was draining my battery. With this service running, my phone does not survive through the day, while if I disable it, I have more than 50% at the end of the day.
