*edited to show the connectors on the logic board. I bought an iphone from ebay. The digitizer needed a replacement, so I did it. I’ve tried two different ones, actually. Even with a new screen, digitizer, LCD cable, the number six will not type. Can someone give me insight? The ) directly under the 6 will not type either. Help! Also, the repair (I’m assuming its the connector on the logic board) requires sautering (sp?). I’m comfortable with that, but is it super difficult? I have tiny hands and perfect vision, so working with tiny details is easy for me. I really enjoy the challenge. .) Also, the metal housing that covers the cords can not screw in to the logic board. The tiny bits are broken (not the screws, the part the screws go in to Thank you so much for your response. I am very thankful and am having an interesting time working on iphones. :) Update (12/15/2016)

I think I found the problem. How hard is this to fix?

@ldd before replacing the logicboard or considering microsoldering you want to eliminate your replacement digitizer as the problem. Check to see if you can use the #6 when you have your phone in landscape orientation. If the same deadspot appears in the same location in portrait and landscape mode it is most likely your digitizer. I assume you replaced the digitizer as part of the complete display assembly and not separately. Post an image of your digitizer connector with your question so we can see what you see. For that use this guide. It is not uncommon to receive aftermarket digitizers with deadspots

While you may be able to solder, microsoldering is a completely different ballgame. My suspicion is that the dead spot is caused by either a damaged processor or damaged socket connector on the logic board. If you’re comfortable with microsoldering and have the tools to do it, then you can try to get a damaged logic board and transfer the connector for the digitizer over.
