Chosen Solution
I was using an adaptor to connect the micro HDMI port of my FZ1000 to a full size HDMI cable and all worked fine. The weight of the full size cable eventually bent the adaptor, it broke, and appears to have damaged the port on the camera as several other adaptors, specified as working with a FZ1000, will not work. I have reset the camera to factory defaults but there still is no video output on the micro HDMI port. Can the micro HDMI port be replaced?
Most cell phone repair business can probably replace the broken ports. It may take a bit for the parts to come in but unless you have done electric soldering in the past than for a camera being so compact I recommend a repair shop.
