The memory I purchased does not work very good. Neither one works alone or in tandem. The only way they work is if I use one of them with the Apple memory that came with the iMac in one of the slots. I mixed and matched several times so it’s not like I’m seating them incorrectly. So instead of 4gig with the two I bought, I can only get 3gig. Thank you John Coffey

Depending on your exact model as well as your OS-X version 3 GB maybe the limit! The White iMac’s need to be running the OS X 10.7.5 and you needed a firmare update. Its been awhile and I don’t know which one was the needed version. Locate your exact system here EveryMac - Lookup plugging in your systems S/N. Then tell us which is yours.
